So here it all is a couple pics of my frogs and a video. I do have a couple questions about mold and mushrooms growing in a vivarium/terrarium as the heat and humidity has been awful up here in New England and having the frogs in a non air conditioning room the temp has been at a constant 90 in the viv and dropping at night but i have noticed white mold on the tree thing and mushrooms growing as seen in the pic and vid can that be harmful to my frogs?

Another question is in the vid how many flies am i supposed to get in one small tuppa ware? because it seems that i am really not getting to many. If you know anything let me know as far as the pics the first on which i think is a F/ not quit sure is such a great pic the colors he or she has is really memorizing as for my other dart in the 2nd pic i took in a different lighting and setting which i thought came out dull but very interesting the 3rd pic is one of the little ones which are a little darker blue but very stealthy looking 4th is the vid and clearly seeing the white mold and mushies and last is a link to my video well hope you all enjoyed have a great night.

The temperatures you are describing are lethal temperatures for a dart frog... You need to figure out how to cool your vivarium if you can't cool the room... Placing frozen water bottles on top of the center of the tank can help reduce by a few degrees. PDFs should be kept no higher than 80ish during the day. In our little glass boxes, these frogs cannot regulate their body temperatures like they do in the wild.

Mold and mushrooms are normal... They usually disappear after a few weeks. Adding springtails and other Isopods are a good way to control mold and fungus as well.

Are you getting newly seeded cultures? If so, cultures are usually seeded only with 50-200 flies. After 15 days, the first large emergence happens (I believe the females). The second emergence is after 20 days (males I think).

Thanks for letting me know tomorrow is gonna be in the hundreds, these last past couple of weeks have been brutal with the humidity and hot weather i put one of those cooler packs in there that should help a lot and i am not sure if they are newly seeded cultures if you watch my video they are in there maybe you could lmk thx again.

you definitely want to add some leaf litter to the tank. Dart frogs love it and you should add some springtails to the tank which will thrive in the leaf litter. definitely want to keep your temps under 80 more around 78 at peak high. As far as your flies go as mentioned in your other thread, you really want to get yourself a culture kit from a retailer. I couldn't tell from your video but if that container you have those flies in atm doesn't have any ventilation you're probably gasing the culture which is why you are seeing a lot of dead ones. Also want to keep your flies around 75-78 degrees. Buying a culture kit will get cups and lids with ventilation.

yea it is hard to tell but there is ventilation on them they look like they died in that butter stuff idk i will listen and start my culture and litter leaf and spring tails as for now it is hot as a bastard out and i am keeping the frogs cool by cooler packs and they are loving it but thanks guy really appreciate it have a nice day keep cool.
