HiMy name is Jessica, and I recently bought 4 FBT's. They were all in a 5 in X 5 in tank with only water. Anyhow, I got them home, out them in a 30 gal short tank with about 1.5 inches of water at the deep end. It banks up to a land section with tons of hideys, moss and even a tree they like to jump on. 3 of them are eating like cows, one of them hasn't eaten anything yet, and she hides alot. She has recently left her land hidey hole and ventured into the water the last few days. They are all getting crickets and only crickets. The water is dechlorinated. My question is, do you think perhaps another type of food would interest her, and if so, what kind? One of the frogs has mounted all 3 of the others, and I don't know if they act shy and dont eat before laying eggs, but its been nearly 2 weeks! I tried seperating her so she could get a whack at the crickets. She has zero interest even when the crickets climb across her face. She looks like she has lost some weight since I got her. I work for an exotic vet, has anyone had any luck with taking one of these guys to a vet? Any advice or suggestions would be great!
It looks like your frog is stressed out. Some signs of stress include hiding often, smaller size than the others, or a lack of appetite. You may want to put the frog in a separate container and hand feed until the frog behaves normally. Good luck![]()
