    Default zombie frog

Anybody have an idea of what is wrong with this frog and a treatment ? the healthy looking one is dead, the one which looks like it should be dead is still alive and apparently showing natural behavior. It is not mine and was posted on caudata.org but received no response. http://www.caudata.org/forum/f53-oth...ated-frog.html

I am very confused, why should this frog be dead?

They one with all the skin falling off, this is not a natural look for Xenopus laevis.

No it's not natural, it's a sign of infection or disease.. I assuming this person is going to properly diagnose and treat this frog.. I can't tell anything from that picture but I am going to have to assume it is a fungal infection?

I am not sure what is wrong with the frog, please give us more details. Shedding of the skin is quite normal as long as there isn't a disease associated with it. If the problem is bloating - now that's a serious matter. Bloating is often fatal unless treated quickly.

Often times, these frogs will remain motionless just under the surface of the water for a long period of time, this is normal. ACFs are crepuscular (active during the twilight hours).

If you follow the link you will see the pic of the frog and the thread, shedding is natural but if it leaves the frog looking a mottled red it isnt a normal shed. Thanks for the response guys, i hope you can help.

Can you provide a close up picture? I still cannot see much in those pictures and I have a 27" monitor.. what you're describing could be red leg.
