"Chocolate" IS a tag for Fantasies that I haven't heard in about 10years. Remember, any Orange on fantasies turns brown at night and when stressed. He looks good and healthy to me. Maybe an extra generation of cranwelli is mixed in...his head looks very round compared to the angular cornuta.

That's probably why I've never heard a Fantasy called a chocolate. Now I have heard of Cranwelli called Chocolate Pacman, but that's usually the darker browns.

I'd like to get a Fantasy some Time. They are very beautiful.

    Hi Morgan!

That's very interesting information, thank you! I was thinking along the same lines as Grif in thinking there was no such thing as a Chocolate Fantasy, but wasn't really all that sure. I wasn't thinking the pet store or breeder was being untruthful, but I know names and labels can get mixed up and misused in the pet industry at times.

He/she did have a bit of a slight orange tint when those pictures were taken. They were also taken at night so the lighting wasn't that great. Looking at him now (just the top of his head because the rest is buried) he looks to be more tan/sand colored with the dark brown splotches and spots. And I agree he does look more on the cranwelli side than cornuta. Maybe this is fairly common with Fantasy frogs? I don't know.

Also, the last pac I had, an albino, took food almost immediately after I got him home. I feed him almost 100% of the time using tongs. This guy hasn't accepted any tong-offered food as of yet, but has grabbed a roaming cricket. He still gets a bit freaked out when I open the terrarium. I can see him hunch down when I reach in to offer a nightcrawler or roach. I'm sure he's still trying to get settled in and is still a bit spooked.

Break the hind legs off the crickets when you offer them so they're easier to catch. One way for them to get used to tongs is by reaching in with the food in the tongs and the frog seeing you drop it with the tongs into the enclosure. This way they can make the connection that tong = food.
