Unhappy Is my chubby frog buried alive?!

So I still have yet to see my chubby frog out of his burrow at all since I brought him home a couple days ago. I looked for him today and was able to find him under the dirt. He was alive and breathing thankfully. I'm kind of torn between unburrowing him or letting him be. The soil he's in seems to be awfully thick and I'm worried he'll suffocate. Should I just let him be? I'm really nervous because even though my pac burrows I still see him when he does, I'm not used to not seeing my frog ever. Will he know there's food in the cage? Will he know to unburrow for food? I'm honestly just really worried about him in general.

Any help/reassurance you could give would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

One of the other members who I haven't seen on in a while has some Chubby painted frogs and they tend to burrow really deep. I believe they do this in the wild until it rains then they return to the surface to feed. I would just have him his head uncovered so he can see. Offer him small crickets since they are a narrow mouthed frog or maybe some small earthworms.

Try not to panic. Burrowing frogs do this occasionally. He is probably getting adjusted still.

Maybe mimicking rain would encourage him to come out, don't over do it, just keep it moist and humid in there.
I don't think he'll suffocate, they are burrowing frogs after all.
Also I don't know how much I would root around in the soil trying to find him, sounds like it would stress him out and I think you want him to feel comfortable enough to come out so you can see him.
