dose anyone els have pixies as larg as him??? and if you do how offen do you feed?? mine is 11months old and i spend anywear from $20-30 aweek to feed he doseint stop eating ..i feed largworms\chickens\crackits\mealworms\debra roachs in that order every week.exp chickens thats every 16-18 days..dose anyone els do this?? ps: i also deworm him every month or 2
dang! mine is about 9 months. I still have not weighed him yet. I just do crickets, dubias, earthworms, and grasshoppers when I can find some big enough. dubias and crickets are his staple diet. I used to feed him adult mice as a treat but i'm not really into feeding animals to other animals.
mice are nogood .. lots of fat and my vet tells me in the long run your frog is better off eating alot of small bugs than larg rodents
Ok a few thing i have to say on this subject 1st- insects are animals too no matter how you look at it, one life is no greater than another. 2nd- Im not trying to bad mouth anyone but power feeding is not the way to go. It not only puts stress on the internal organs of the animal but it effectively cuts there life span down 40% The reason I say this is because I have seen it done in fish, birds, reptiles, and small mammals, granted not on frogs but after years of being an animal care giver and having a close relationship with a vet its been tried and true. If you look at the koi actions in Japan some of those fish sell for 100 of thousands of $ but were power feed to reach that size and there estimated life span is about 40-50 years not the normal 80-100 so.... thats my 2 cents
P.S. nice looking frog
peace out! I am not going to argue about this.
It didn't sound like he was power feeding I agree personally I would feed less chickens maybe one every 2 months but a staple of insects is hardly power feeding. To the question at hand I feed daily till sexual maturity 7-8 months old then every other day

Chickens are actually not the same as feeding rodents and are far healthier as a treat feeder.
