You can put a petri dish in with some water and allow the parents to move the tad to the water or you can pull it out and put it in water treated for tads. I move mine myself and if it is in the eggs then it has to be scraped onto a sppon and then moved to the new water If its a tad swimming then you can catch it or pulll the bromeliad and flush it out into a container. The water I use is tap treated with conditioner and then some blackwater extract (found in pet store fish sections). You can put the extract in until its a light tea color.

I feed my tads tadpole bites, tetra tropical fish flake and dried seaweed which is also available at the pet stores.
I also put in Java Moss since they like to eat that too.
