I'm not too sure when exactly a Pyxie reaches sexual maturity. Males usually do first in all species. Pacman Frogs reach sexual maturity as follows. Males anywhere from 8 month to a year of age. Females from 1 year to 1.5 years.
Pyxie frogs probably reach it around a year of age possibly 1.5 years.

Well this is just the most exciting of news
+1 I just want to say something very important first off...The females are awesome! I understand wanting to own a big burly male, but at the same time the females are very attractive pets. I own a Pyxie and it is about 4-5 months old (estimate) and she looks very similar to yours. She makes little sounds exactly like what you imitated (good impression BTW). I've tried to nail down this "croaking" issue for quite a wile now. Only males "bellow" (sounds like a cow mooing), but females can make little "croaking" noises like what you described and imitated. The females do not have the vocal sack to Bellow (mating call), and therefore can not call as a male would. Don't be frustrated or at a loss. Half the fun of raising these frogs comes from getting them as frogletts and watching them grow. So if you end up with a female, then get a couple frogletts with the broadest heads in the batch and raise them up. When they get old enough and you end up with a male (or two) then keep the one you want and help someone else out by selling the other. :-) Look at this guy on the left. Out of these two froglets (1 mo old? approx.) the one on the left is a LIKELY or MAYBE male. You see how much broader his head is? The one on the right is a possible male if I compare it to the other pixie of the three froglets (you can see its head down in front of the other two. Here is a picture of my female after she crapped in her freshly cleaned water dish (little stinker)
I will cohabitate these frogs when the little buggers catch up size wise (if you don't agree with cohabitation save it for someone who cares). Anyway I hope this helps... Just remember your frog may be a male or female, its too early to tell. But as of now, I would say you have an awesome little female bullfrog, and it looks like you take great care of her. Keep up the good work!!! P.S. I hope these pics work. DW
Your frog is a male. It is not going to make the deep bellow until it gets older. If your frog is making a croaking noise, it's a male. Here are some of my male frogs croaking when they were younger:

Now that they are older, they sound closer to this:

Awesome!!! Same age? My (thought to be female) makes these noises as I stated. Big difference though in the two noises as well as the size of your frogs. Maybe an age thing?? Thanks alot for ruining my theory!!! LOL. Well, now what am I going to do with multiple males??? (keep them)
Thanks for sharing Dalt
