Hi everyone, I currently have 3 types of frogs.

Southern Bell frog - Litoria raniformis

Looking forward to learning more about the types of frogs I currently have.

Hello and Welcome to the forum , nice to see another Cantab who love Frogs here! Also, LOVE your forum name :P.
I have Whistling Tree Frogs (2 adult, 2 recent morphs, and 2 tadpoles), and possibly 2 Green and Gold Bell Frogs, they're just Taddys at the moment, so they could be Southern Bell's aswell.

Where did you get your tadpoles from that your unsure of?
I don't know of any green and goldens in the wild in the south island from what I have read and my observations.
I do know that Animates sells green & golden tadpoles plus lil froglets, I bought 2 froglets the other day, they seem to be getting on ok with the 3 I already have.

Im currently selling WBTF on trademe and also southern bell tadpoles + froglets.

Thanks for the welcome Jess and good to meet another Cantabrian

I got them for Animates (Papanui) and it said on the sticker on front that it varies what Frog they might be. Pretty sure they'll be Green & Golden, but who knows .

I went there the other day and bought 2 froglets, yes they are all green and goldens, I rang head office to check
I noticed some of there tadpoles looked a bit sick though, some of them had real weird tales, there was even a dead one floating in the tank! this was at tower juncion.
I then went to the Papanui branch and same thing there, some had strange bent tales, but were looking a lot healthier than the ones I saw at tower junction.

Im pretty sure the adult frogs you have are green and goldens, but they are mostly gold/brown, they all vary a lot in there colouring.
WBTF's have no green at all and are quite small even as adults.

I'll put up photos soon of my gold/brown green & goldens, they look just like yours, they have a small amount of green around the eyes.

Here is one of my WBTF's freshly morphed but still has distinctive typical colouring.

Yep, my 2 little fresh-morph WBTF's look exactly like that . Really look like smaller versions of my 2 big boys. I'll get a pic up (took some this morning)...just a sec..

Yer that lil guy is def a WBTF
I was looking at your other pics on FB of your adults.

Heh they love that lil top bit of those Exo Terra terrariums huh

    WBTF froglet

2 yr old G&G's (terracotta pot is very small)

    3 wk old G&G

Size comparison of 2 yr old and 3 wk old G&G's (The 2 yr olds I bought recently off trademe, I thought they were quite small for a 2 yr old?)

Yes, I noticed that about their Tadpoles too that and there were some stuck on their filter (don't know if they were dead or not), had a talk to to the lady who got my Taddy's for me, whether they did anything about it, who knows. I plan on going back and checking this wk. One of my G&G taddy's has a bit of a twist in it's back (didn't notice until I got home)...hopefully 'he' turns out OK, we'll see.

    A bit strange aye!
It was funny cause I was reading there care guide they have in store and what they recommend is totally different to how they have there set up with tadpoles in it :S
There was even a tadpole that was pretty much a frog but still had its tail and there was nothing for it to sit on to finish up morphing, it was all just water, contray to what there care guide said.

I will say though the Papanui branch seemed a lot better, and there G&G froglets were looking very healthy, well fed and have a nice big terrarium.

None of the workers there could tell me what type of tadpoles/frogs they had though.. I had to ring head office to check they are G&G's

I was at a pet store down Ferry road yesterday and they have southern bell frogs for $25 each and they are selling them as Litoria aurea (G&G) lol

Yeh, I saw they had the froglets in the big Terrarium when I was there picking up the tadpoles. I'm glad they do that.
