I have had my toadlet since it was a tad. I brought it home on May 6, and it came out of the water on May 28. Before yesterday, I kept it in a medium pet carrier tank with a pair of panty hoes over the top to prevent fruit flies from escaping. It had a pretty decent appetite up until a week ago...it usually finished every last fruit fly, and I kept plenty in there. Once I noticed it seemed harder for him to catch them, I decided it was time for some bigger food. I got an assortment of small crickets ranging in size of smallness. I put a few in his tank, and he ate two along with a small red runner that got mixed in. I was surprised at the size of the crickets he ate! Definitely wasn't expecting him to fit the big ones in his mouth! So he looked pretty full after this...he had a huge meal! So I decided to put him in the 10 gallon with coconut fiber and organic potting soil mixed substrate. He immediately burried himself! I looked bellow the tank and I can seem his little belly chilling on the bottom. He is only the size of a quarter. I plan on feeding him in a separate container so the crickets aren't roaming free and so he doesn't accidentally ingest some substrate. So my question is...how long should I expect to wait before seeing him again? I obviously am not going to dig for him...he'll come out when he is hungry, right?
