?'s about White's Tree Frogs

I am a new Froggy Grandmother to 3 Beautiful White's Tree Frogs that my 3 Son's Got for there Birthday's. I have read and read about them but the care sheet's differ so much from site to site. So I have a couple quick questions.
1. I have read the the humidity should not drop below 60% but some sites say it nees to be between 60% and 85% and some just say above 60% is there a humidity that is too high for a WTF?
2. The Frogs were bought from Petco and seem to be kind of thin when I look at them compaired to pictures of other WTF I see on the internet. Also they are all Brown instead of the Green I see in pictures. I have noticed that when I get up in the middle of the night to check the Temp. and humidity one of them looks more greeen then is does during the day. Could this just be because we change lights to a night time light instead of a day time light? I know it is not ok for them to be skinny but are some WTF Just Brown or is there a stress Issue causeing them to be Brown?
3. I have also read that they will spend most of there time in the plants and trees rather then in the water, So far that has prooven to be true for my 3 till today today the largest one I have has spent mostly all day hanging out in the water. Is this ok or should I be worried?

Any Comments and Suggestions would be highly helpful since I had no idea anyone would get them these small critters for there birthday and they were kind of a spur of the moment thing I knew nothing about. Thanks in Advance.

Whites Tree Frogs like a humidity between 60 and 80 percent. I kelp mine at around 65 percent during the day with the tank lighting on. Once the lighting goes out usually the humidity will rise since the lighting in not burning off the humidity. When you mist the humidity will rise immediately and then slowly drop. If you have a tank with a full screen top and losing humidity quickly then covering some of the top will help retain the humidity. Also live plants help with humidity retention.
Your frogs will also enjoy day temps of around 80 degrees and between 68 and 75 at night.

Color charges are caused by many things. Humidity and tamps, stress, and what I'll call mood. Having enough places to perch, hide, and climb will help along with having the tank in a low traffic area in the home. They like to be up high in the tank and having plants like Bromeliads and Snake plant will give them places to sleep and climb around on while also helping with humidity in the tank. once your frogs are settled in (acclimated to a new home) they should be found soaking in a water dish (changed daily with declorinated tapwater) and moving all around the tank, and perching high up on accents in the tank.

not a problem. some nights they soak and some they might not.
Usually if they are soaking all day it is either low humidity but I have hand mine many days soaking in the day due to one of the other frogs taking up the water dish all night... one moved out and the other moved in.
Keep an eye on humidity, keep the stress down by not handling, and reducing the amount of time the tank is entered for maintenance..


As for skinny, they should fatten up. You need to make sure each is eating and also pooping. You can do this by feeding each in a separate tank but then this adds stress to the frogs routine. I feed in a cricket bowl (small glass or ceramic cereal bowl with a round bottom) so i can monitor what was eaten. They often poop right below where they slept also. You should also be dusting the crickets with calcium a few times a week.

When you ID poop for a certain frog, check it for worms and parasites. Many will have fecal exams completed on the droppings to ensure each is healthy since one sick frog will usually carry over to the others quickly.
