Ugh. While we're at it, can someone post a care sheet on how to euthanize?

I thought I read somewhere that you should use benzocaine spray, but don't quote me on it.

why are you euthanizing the frog? it must have plenty of life left if it wont die that easy... anything with a numbing agent i think.

Take it to a vet ASAP if you can't do it right. Don't just start putting a bunch of chemicals on it! Why are you trying to kill it anyways?! What's wrong with it?

The Neosporine should have Benzocain in it. Is it a different brand? Any numbing/painkiller ointment should euthanize the frog, but there are other ways. The freezer is not considered humane and ice crystals forming on live tissue is quite painful.

Why are you euthanizing your frog? What is wrong with it?

Do as Blue has said and take it a vet to be put down. You're prolonging its suffering.

I wouldn't attempt freezing unless it's unconscious first.

Would folks find this helpful? I could whip one up pretty easily.

It would be helpful, but we don't have one here. Skeletal maybe you should submit a sheet to John on how to humanely euthanize your frog if the need to end their suffering arises.

Alcohol used to be used to euthanize frogs, but I don't believe they do that anymore.

This is so sad if the frog was fighting and surviving during euthanizion, he must have still had a strong will to live and fight

I honestly don't think I could do it myself to one of my frogs if I ever had to, I'd have a vet do it in fear of this happening

The frog was euthanized first by normal neosporin (the wrong tube was applied) the frog was doing "death rolls" and contorting. My fridnd who is a vet tech rushed over and we both decided that the frog was dying and in alot of pain. The neosporin was an old tube that did not contain any ingridients that would kill the frog. After 30 min my friend looked up the active ingridient used in the new neosporin tubes and realized mine didnt contain it. We used oragel on the frogs pelvic patch and the convulsions and spasms stopped soon after and she died quickly.

Im glad you all care alot about these animals and their well being. The frog wasnt "strong enough to fight the neosporin" he was dying a painful horrible death and i wanted his suffering to stop.
