I was grilling the other day and took off a shrimp on the barby. I took its shell off then fed it to one of my frogs. It was about 50% cooked. Still raw on the center but that pink shrimp color on the outside. Does food being raw matter? Cooking def kills parasites that could transfer to my critter, but cooked food is usually not as soft. Any input?
I wouldn't do it as a regular thing, but it should be okay.
I agree with Ivory Reptiles. But you are right about the temp. If you heat the shrimp to at least 170 than bacteria and parasites cannot thrive. This is also how you sterilize soil and rocks in the horticulture industry without using chemicals. I would use the shrimp as a treat like you do mice.
I wouldnt feed mine shrimp only because I dont see a pacman ever passing paths with a shrimp in its native environment. What i mean is that shrimp is out of the natural element of the food chain for a pacman. It would be like watching a lion eat a polar bear and vice versa. XP
also be careful with how you heat up this shrimp. I completely forgot you said you took it off the barby. I would suggest an oven since a barby consists usually of coal (unless you have a gas BBQ)
