Hey guys! I have been reading these forums for the past week or two getting the general jist about how to go about creating my first viv. Well today I took that leap and got the basic supply's that I believe I will need. From reading what seems like every topic on the forum I learned a great deal about how to create some pretty awesome setups. There is one question I have though and that's what type of sealant I should use on my artificial rocks. I purchased some cell foam and have spent all day shaping the blocks into the ideal shapes that I would like and then have been coating them in "Foam Coat". I just finished my third coat and they are looking great. I bought some Aerylic Paint as well and am about to begin that process. The only post I could find regarding what to put on it after paint was a product called "Shield All". I could not find this product at any home improvement store I visited today. I spoke with an employee at the Home Depo about a possible substitute and he recommended "NeverWet" Superhydrophobic Coatings | Corrosion Control & Waterproof Coatings | NeverWet I purchased a can of it. I just want to make sure that this isnt something that is going to hurt my frogs. Im going to have a pretty extensive water system that includes a waterfall and stream system ( If I can get it to work correctly =P ) and plan on spraying this product on the some of the surfaces that will be seeing alot of water (along with a layer of silicone). Should this be ok or is it going to lead to a toxic meltdown that destroys life as my frogs know it? Thanks for any feedback!
Hard to say. Never used it, and the website doesn't give much info on it's contents.
I always water proof with krylon fusion clear spray paint. Never had any issues with it, and I know it's frog safe.

OK I will return this stuff and go with the safe route! Thanks so much!
Vinny. IMO "Drylox" is great stuff. It is designed for concrete sealing and is safe for ponds too.I did three months worth of research be for I started my design. It is a extremely low odor latex base that dries to touch in 1 hr. I gave it a full day between coats. I used it in my living room although a shop would have been better.. I am using it on my Styrofoam rockets as well. It is tint able if you buy the white base. I got them to mix me a light grey/brown colour and fro there I plan on taking small amounts and darkening this colour with acrylic paints. Once I am happy with all the colours I will do the final coat in their "clear" one, it is guaranteed Water proof and Fish safe. There are some good demos on you tube so you can check it out. Here is one of a fish tank background to prove it is safe and waterproof > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyKd06sHjJQ Hope that helps Vinny.
Awesome thanks so much!
