This is a care sheet on the Green Tree Frogs that will tell you everything you need to know. Any problems, just call out.
Hope everything goes well for you.
If you cant get a bigger cage, get him proper crickets and vitamins and proper care i suggest you release him where he was a lot happier then a small pet carrier hoping a roach and a fly will pass his way.Plus you have no idea what those bugs have on them in them , even though he's wild caught still could be a poison issue parasite issue how much vitamins he's gettin outta his food.It would be a lot better for you to just know and enjoy that he's a part of your backyard habitat and know e's makin lil froggies around there, dont ya think?
Don't feed them bugs you find around the house. Very bad.
You don't know what the bugs have or have been so its a bad idea.
Just check out that care sheet, it will tell you everything you need to know.
frogs caught outside can have parasites, worms, etc. so if your going to keep him id get a fecal check done by dr frye.
bugs outside can have pesticides, parasites, etc. so please DO NOT feed them to your frog. Feed crickets from a local pet store no bigger than the space between the frogs eyes.
i would suggest putting your WILD frog back into the WILD. Green tree frogs are very commen and VERY cheap to obtain. In my opinion you will have much better luck with a captively bred frog. There will be much less chance of a problem. They wont even know what "wild" is. All they will know is that they live in a glass enclosure and they get fed and there is nothing anywhere near that will eat them.
a glass aquarium is very cheap and is perfect for housing. im betting you could find one for $10 on craigslist. if you dont have the money, release the frog. A cheap substrate that is easy to clean is paper towels. spray them til they are moist. Then you can see if the frog is pooping and eating. That also makes it easy for collecting poop to send for fecal examinations. To feed, you can get a small glass dish. Plenty at walmart, dollar store, etc. i saw them 4 for $1 today at the petstore. put a few crickets inside that and they cant escape. The frog should be able to easily find them and you can monitor how much the frog eats.
I found out the hard way that field collected frogs carry worms. Today i got a call saying my frogs fecal matter had more hookworms than they had ever seen in a single examination. So if you are not prepared to shuffle out the money for the medicine, sterilizing your tank at least once a week, and all the other neccesities there will be to keep your frog, let it go and try obtaining a cheap captive bred one from one of many online vendors. If you need help finding a good vendor let me know. David has already supplied you with a very informative care sheet. So go off that if you decide to keep him, but keep what i said in mind. Frogs are precious animals and deserve as much care as ANY other animal.
um...he should also be kept inside...not outside in a tank that bugs can easily get in. unless your saying you have roaches and flies in your house? i can barely understand your english.
