I agree with you , it is ruff. I would not put something this texture in w/ my red eyed tree frogs.

Be sure no wires begin to come through.
If your frog has the habit of jumping in a clumsily way that could result in him rubbing against it , then go with your gut.


If you get a large pothos from ( ie home depot) , rinse all the soil off the roots ,
re-pot it in tropical soil, let the bad stuff grow out for about 2 weeks.
THEN - the long vines can be used-- they can even be doubled and sort-ot twisted to create a sturdy place for a heavier tree frog.
