i was going to buy this thermometer to get a more accurate reading. It is $20 on amazon and I was wondering if this is a good deal for this product before I buy it. right now I have Zoo Med Economy Analog Dual Thermometer and Humidity Gauge in all of my tanks but I hear that sometimes these are not as accurate as a digital.

Check a pet sore like petco or petsmart to see if they have a better deal. Also shipping costs money so in total I think a pet store would save you money.

digital would be more accurate in terms of providing you the actual number and not determining off a gauge but probe type (referring to open probe designs) will eventually become saturated from the moisture and high humidity if you leave it in the tank and start giving false readings

this one is a point and click digital therm. I have seen the probes and I agree with you about the long term humidity problem

so you are talking temp gun then? I bought the 50 dollar one from reptile basics and i like it. Very handy even comes in handy for using around the house as well. There are cheaper ones out there as well like the Pro Exotics PE 1 and PE 2 models. The think to look at is the distance ratio of from how far away to what size area its reading. Read the FAQ on reptilebasics they explain alot about temp guns to help you determine what you need for what you want
