Question Fin, normal or sick? Skin question with pics.

Fin, a Green Tree Frog we've had for about 2-3 weeks seems healthy however has in the past day or so seemed to develop some blotchy-ness on his skin; pictures attached.

    Environment:
Fin lives in a 10 gal hex tank, pic attached.
Temp is always between 65 - 85F, red light bulb turned on/off to keep in range.
Humidity normally in 70-80% range; running a bit high in the pic because it was misted it pretty well not long before pics were taken.
He is misted with distilled water 1-2x a day.
Coconut husk floor ~1-1.5" deep w stone substrate; drainage seems good, doesnt get overly wet and drys out in about 5-6 days.
All materials were bought new from pet store.

    Food:
Fin is fed mostly crickets which are "gut loaded" with cricket food from pet store that claims to be for gut loading. Occasionally fed a wax worm. Once fed a small trout worm [common worm] All food comes from a pet store.

    Activity:
Fin has been making mating calls, usually during AM or late evening, and moves in quickly on crickets placed in tank.
Spends most of his time atop palm trees in tank.
At night he can be found moving around and taking a swim.
He doesnt seem lethargic, but does spend hours on end sitting atop palm tree; just like in pics.

    Handling:
Fin's only been picked up twice, both times today after hands were washed and rinsed well with distilled water. Otherwise he's never been touched since leaving pet store.

    Concern/skin:
Concern is blochy-ness on skin, not color.
Understand color change from bright to dark green and back is normal. However the blotchy-ness seemed odd.
Thought it might be shedding of skin.
The 1st & 3rd pictures best represent the condition we're seeing. And yes the blochy-ness does seem to change color from whitish to brownish depending upon Fin's skin color at the time.

Since frogs have very sensitive, and it's health is very critical to their health, figured we'd ask before things progressed any further.

Any feedback, thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Fin

Do not use distilled water on the frog or in it's water dish. It leaches the vital salts and nutrients from the frog.

Use treated (declorinated with reptiles specific water conditioner) tap water OR use spring water.

You can use the distilled for misting but don't spry the frog with it.

    Don,

Thank you for that information. Very much appreciated. Will do immediately.

Don't forget to dust the crickets about 3 times a week with calcium powder

    Lucy and Hetfield,

Thanks for the heads up. Do we really need to calcium dust if the crickets are being "gut loaded" with food containing 8% calcium and whose liquid needs are met by a "quencher" that is calcium "fortified"? Below are the two that I use.

    Thanks again!

Yes because crickets are made of phosphorus and that blocks calcium absorption, which will not be enough for your frog. You must get the a calcium powder phosphorus free and use it 3 times a week for an adult.
