    Default What is too hot

I just put my African Dwarf frogs in their tank today. I turned on the heater I bought but when I looked at the thermometer it was 84 degrees. So I turned the thermometer off and the tank is at 80 but I'm worried that the temperature will drop over night. What temperature is too hot and will harm them? I don't want to kill winkin, blinkin, and nod when I've only had them for a day!

75 to 82 is optimal.. so 80 would be fine and if it dropped to 75 that'd be fine too, i mean these frogs live outdoors so obviously at night time is going to drop the temperature in their natural habitat. doesnt sound like you need a heater.. save it for winter..

You are sure that your frogs are african dwarf frogs and no african clawed frogs right? Clawed frogs need much lower water temperature.
