Thank you! It makes me smile to see them happy and healthy. They are such beautiful frogs .

Oops, Angel is the very sick female (I think) rescue. She is on my other post.

The little guy above is definitely a male. He decided to sing last night . Hmmm, I'll need to think of a cute name for him . There is another one with him I think is a girl also.

I purchased two and was offered the third very sick baby for free.

All will need a course of treatment due to being housed with the sick one.

I know what you mean by not being able to walk near any of the frog tanks! :/
Where i live we have a small Earl May store, It SHOULD only be for plants, fish, and small mammals/pet supply. But they have poor amphibians and reptiles that only last a few weeks in the conditions provided. I almost bought one of the Red eyes there! They were $90. It was a nice female, but she was a dark purple-blue. I felt so bad for her! And selling sick over-priced frogs will get you nowhere!

True! I think they should pay me the $113 it will cost for treating them. The girl even said, "we never have luck with them" :/.

Doesn't it just break your heart? Sweet little innocent frogs that have no choice as to wear they're sent or the conditions they're placed in .

Went to look at the curio today. It's perfect for creating a tall viv. They want $399 for it, but it's not new and I can get a new one for $400. I offered her $200, which I think is a fair price. The lady there is the second-party seller, so she will speak to the owner of it and get back to me. I really like the shape and style of it. The glass sides are held in with screwed plastic holders, so it'd be super easy to take one out and add screening. The base is all wood so it'd also be easy to waterproof.

The estimated size is 24"x15"x96", so it would be just less than 150 gallons, due to it's shape. Likely about 130 to 140 gallon.

    Lol!

Honestly, the best thing to do is to educate people and pet stores on proper husbandry and report those that are noncompliant.

Because frogs are small, there are many people that consider them 'disposable', meaning...if they die, they die... we can just purchase more. It is irritating and frustrating to those of us that care. Imagine if those were puppies...many people would be outraged.

Honestly, I feel teaching the importance of wild frogs and their roles on our Earth and what they bring to science as biological indicators is key. They are not disposable. Their existence gives us vital information about changes in the environment including effects of global warming, about disease and bacterial/fungal/viral evolution and mutation, and about effects of endangered species and extinction and the role of frogs in the food chain...and more. Once people understand their importance, they seem to inherit a little respect for them.

Too, teaching about all of the different frog species and how each has their own little lifestyle (environments and husbandry), seeing how pretty, or cute, or not (lol!), or uniquely different each can look or behave becomes interesting and fun.

In this way, people learn to respect frogs on a different level, whether through science, as pets, or as the technician caring for them at stores and zoos. The 'oh we'll factors decreases some.

Of course, this is my opinion .

I wonder if my husband would accept furniture as housing better than just another tank? He's to the point now that when he comes home from a long-haul trip, he says he's afraid to find out what I've added to the house.

Okay, well, I have a few updates. I haven't been able to post bc my tapatalk app froze, but they just updated a fix...yay!

I purchased a china cabinet. The other people would bot budge on their price. This is what I purchased. The glass section is 48x48x16. If I can waterproof it and screen off a top section it will be great. If not, it will be a lovely china cabinet, ha ha! She will deliver it to me on Thursday .

I named both of my new red eyes. The male is now Lucky and the female is Callie (means beautiful). They are adorable.

Both are improving. Lucky soaks and eats on his own. Callie soaks and was sitting on the cricket bowl edge last night so she in interested, yay! I am still feeding her. Lucky has filled in nicely, Callie is looking better each day. Lucky has no visible spots or skin alterations. Callie has a few lingering light green spots and her fungal spots are now smaller and a faded tan and have so-to-speak dried-up. Both are still on metronidazole and baytril. Callie gets silversulfadiadene to her spots. They are both completely rehydrated and look moist and refreshed.

Lucky calls every night, sometimes to your talking to him. Callie makes no sounds. Callie likes to follow Lucky around. It's really cute. They usually sleep under the same leaf next to one another.

I am pleased with their progress . Thank you, Dr.Frye!

    Lucky...

    Callie...

I regret to share that little Angel passed last Wednesday. She had started to improve a bit after rehydrating and the feedings. The infections were bad. She was very weak Tuesday night and could barely lift her head. I tucked her in on a moist paper towel with her little arms and legs tucked in at her sides how they like to sleep, that night, said a prayer and let her rest. I woke in the morning to find her in the same position. I buried her that morning, dear sweet little baby :'(. You can read her other post if you'd like, though sad .

I'm sorry about Angel. You gave her the best treatment for her last days. On a happier note... I love the china cabinet. I will definately be checking that option out!

Thank you! I miss caring for her.

I found it in craigslist for only $200...great find! Esp considering the 125 gal tank I want is $300+ and the stand is another $300+. the total was around $700. And, it was only 22" tall and this is 4ft . You never know what you can find. The lady just wants to get rid of it...my lucky day.
