Hey all,
So I thought I'd done ALL my homework in setting up my viv. (I wasn't aware of this forum's full resources when I started) Anyway, my build uses a false bottom (eggcrate/screen) BUT I failed to put in a siphon for removing waste water. The good news is that my frog seems pretty happy (plants too!) and there is no odor, no mold, and the viv remains clean and problem free... I know this can't go on forever, and I will need to remove "garbage water" at some point. It's been 2 months so far...
Right now, I'm not too concerned b/c I can probably cut a small hole in the screen and insert a tube through the eggcrate. My question about doing that, is how do I vacuum the water out once the tub is in there? is there an electric pump available for this application?
Also, are there any "how to's" (w/ pictures) no the forum? I've been looking w/o any luck... People seem to mention adding drainage tube / siphon, yet they skip over the fabrication part.
I plan on upgrading to a larger viv in the next few months as my baby WTF continues to grow and would love to have this aspect of the enclosure running as efficiently as possible.
thx!
