Almost forgot! the type of grass with short roots is Kentucky Blue. though many companies are making ones that go deeper, true unaltered blue has only about 2" to 4" roots, nice and short for this kind of thing and wheat grass of course is still an option.

Right on, it sounds awesome! I definitely got lucky on the job, it is too much fun. Thanks for the info on the grass I am actually gonna try and get some for the timor monitor build im in the middle of. Definitely keep us posted!
