I have been using zoo med basking bulbs and they burn out within a month. I know this is common. I was wondering what other brands/types of bulbs that you have had long time success with.
you are looking for basking bulb or something for plant growth?
basking only. I use these for my roaches, bearded dragon, and i just switched to an incandescent night bulb for my frogs. I am testing out the new frog one.
if you are looking for a way to heat your roach container something like this may work better than a basking bulb. Towards the end he shows you how they heat theirs

i have already switched to a new bulb for the roaches. I had a solar glow left over from when my cham died. im more interested for my bearded dragon. I use 100 watt for the dragon
Be careful not to touch the bulbs. The oils from your skin can make the light not last as long. I use the same bulbs and mine last for months. I just recently purchased the halogen bulbs for my collard lizards. They say that they last longer.
Ive recently heard that touching them will do that. I started using napkins but idk if that will have the same effect
i use reg household bulbs for day time basking
depends on the temp I need. Or how close they get to bulb. The lamps rest on the screen top in a clamp lamp. For summer I just use 25 watt. Winter is 60 watt.Just put a temp probe at the bask spot and thermometer on the cool side and monitor til you get it right
