Pacmans for kids?

I'm having a very hard time deciding what type of frog I should get my little brother for his birthday. I'm thinking I should get him a Pacman frog, since he has had experience with my Budgett's frog and still jumps at the chance to work with her. But, when I was his age, I had a bad experience with keeping a baby albino C. cranwelli, so my mom is very doubtful about getting a Pacman for him. Anyway, are there any reasons he should keep a Pacman frog at his age, or should I choose something else?

If your brother jumps at the chance to help you with your own Budgetts, perhaps you should get him a Budgetts of his own? Just an idea since he knows already how to help care for one. I have one of my own and they are great little frogs!

I've been thinking about that, and I may go that route instead of a getting him a Pacman frog.

I agree with Mark about the Pacs, but maybe another suggestion would be a White's Tree Frog. They tolerate handling and are very cool.

I would suggest setting up a tank with a few fire belly toads. Pacman frogs do not do much; they sit in one spot, eat, and poop. Unless he's very persistent on wanting a pacman, then it's not recommended.

I agree with Mark...firebelly toads are great because they're up during the day, are very playful and silly when you have more than one, have pretty colors, and are fairly easy to care for. My daughter loved ours.

What about some green tree frogs?

Do you have a price limit? All of the suggestions are good. What about a American bullfrog? They are very tolerant to handling.

White's tree frogs are awesome! Plus they can act kind of goofy when you house them together

I've raised bullfrog tads/froglets before, and they're really interesting and energetic, but as adults they need HUGE tanks to be kept properly. They can jump about eight feet!
