Hey, I'm Cheryl from Il. and I have a Southern Leopard frog, Poe. When I saved him from my window well he was really skinny, compared to the others I rescued. The others I put back in the creek. This one I kept because, well, he looked skinny. He also doesn't have a good chance making it in the world with only one eye. I went with my instincts and have had him now for 3 months. Seems to be doing well. Seems to be getting bigger. I give him gut- loaded crickets. So I have a question, does anyone know why when he's sleeping he opens his mouth? As if he's breathing through his mouth? Is he just breathing? He breathes through his nose the rest of the time. Thanks.
