Hey guys, i'm just wondering if any of you have some sound clips of what sort of sound a female pacman makes? Curious to know what they sound like. Perhaps mine are too soft to be heard or my timing is off.
you will know when you hear it call mines pretty loud
Isit similar to the males? The males have more of a "honking" kinda sound.
The females are nowhere near as loud as the males. They will make clicking sounds in protest when being handled or bothered. Little grunts at the most, but they do not actually "call".
I had never even thought of looking that up. I've never heard it.
I found a good video on youtube of a male calling, but not a female. I can't wait to hear it in person.
LOL.....if you watch our video on Handling the frogs, some of them vocalized.
And you want to hear the mating calls in person.............until it happens at 3 in the morning and other folks in the house want to know why cows are in the house!! LOL
Anyone know what the clicking is from? They dont move their mouths when they do it...but their abdomens flare with every click
You can see when the sound is produced in their throat. On the male's vocal sac and female's throat. When they produce the sound their throat looks like the frog took breathes out twice in quick succession. You can even see it in the water when they're soaking even though they often make the sounds too is for you to hear unless they're upset or angry.
