    Default Red eyed Tree Frogs

Thinking of getting some Aussie Red eyes, basically can anyone tell a few things about caring for them like, enclosure, temperature that kind of stuff. Thanks

ENCLOSURE: they require a very aboreal habitat. for your first RETF you get keep him in a 20 gallon enclosure and then add 5 gallons per frog you acquire. Furnish the enclosure similar to a Whites tree frog enclosure.
TEMP: Keep the temp similar to Whites at around 22-28c during the day and dont let the temps drop below 20c at night
HUMIDITY: Keep the humidity around 70%
Thats pretty much all I could find on the web, but when I went to Melbourne zoo there was a fellow in the reptile/amphibian section who knew a fair bit about them.

(I found this also, apparently there isnt alot of info on them and it varies a little)

    Temperature range: Day 78 -85 Night 66-77

Food: Crickets, flies, and moths coated in calcium and vitamin powder.

Water: A bowl of clean, dechlorinated water should always be available. Mist daily with dechlorinated water.

Housing/Habitat: They should be housed in a tall, humid tropical terrarium with branches and leaves to simulate an arboreal habitat. The terrarium must be well ventilated and humidity should be kept around 80%. Ventilation can be controlled through the use of a screen aquarium top and an air pump to run fresh air into the terrarium. Humidity can be controlled with frequent misting and a glass canopy partially covering the screen.

    1. dont go hunting for your frogs thinking they are dead if you cant see them. that was one of my problems hehe.
    2. i dont even use a light for my red eyes and know plenty of sucessful red eye keepers who dont use a light. my house temperatures are perfect
    3. clean up there feces when you see them. and any cleaning should be done during the day when they are sleeping.
    4. i had some problems with one of my frogs until i used Exo-terra liquid vitamin suppliment. it had toe problems and couldnt stick to anything. fixed it up good.
    5. Dr Frye is the first person who i would email with serious problems. he is the one who recommended the vitamins which fixed my frog.
    6. sleeping on the ground is a big NO NO and usually means something is wrong.
    7. I use spring water for drinking water with 2 drops of the vitamin suppliment. and distilled water for misting.
    8. no pebbles or anything small enough for the frog to swallow. use leaf litter over whatever substrate you use. you dont want your frog to swallow anything besides whatever you feed them
    9. get your frog acustom to a feeding dish. i use a small pyrex bowl so crickets cant fall out.
    10. use calcium with d3

if i can think of anything else i will let you know.
