I have been raising these two toadlets the past week or so but my petsmart quit selling fruit flies. There are none left, I was wondering if I could go outside and catch these tiny brown ants for food for my toadlets? I also have been feeding them baby black widows but I'm out of those as well. Please help.
Bump...
sure, they'll happily gobble up ants.
idk if venomous food is a good idea far as the spiders.
toads will eat nearly anything they can stuff in their face.
i've been buying fruitfly cultures from josh's frogs.com for my 250 toadlets; theyre thriving on hydeia flies but if yours are really tiny get the melanogasters.
good prices, toadlets love the flies, great service.
ants probly dont have much nutritional value, either.
Ants have decent nutritional value but you have to be careful they have a high phosphorus ratio due to the phosphoric acid in them not many herps can thrive on them

I'd try pinhead crickets from the petstore, i have been in this position before too and its not fun!
