Well this weekend was eventfull.
I was on holidays for two weeks and my mum was looking after the frogs (and gecko) for me. I got back yesterday and of course went straight to the frogs.
I fed them all and had a look over them all to see if they were okay, and I found my little brown tree frog Sunday passed away. My mum didnt realise cause she just put the crickets in and didnt really look at the frogs. It looks like he had died a few days ago. Luckily he was in his own tank so there was no other frogs in with him whilst he was dead. I really don't understand whats happening and why all the frogs keep dying. I feel so helpless, and just hope it doesnt happen to any of the others (who are all looking healthy, but then again so was Sunday when I left for my holiday). The reptile vet doesn't know what's happening cause the frogs are seem healthy, and when they start to go down hill they just die.
Also my mum managed to leave Eddie and Kevins door slightly open and Eddie got out. He was missing for two days but I found him healthily in my spare frog/reptile stuff. I just put him back in the tank and he was fine. I have two cats so his lucky he didn't become kitty lunch!
R.I.P Sunday

Hi Kristen, very sorry for your frogsI also hav a southern brown frog .He seems very weak since yesterday, i think it might be the cold weather that does tha,t to him .I cam home today and thought he was dead coz his back legs were straight out .he is still alive though , only his 4 legs look disabled.he was like that llast month too when the weather in hobart was freezin , I used to put him outside but since i found it might be too cold for him , I moved him inside and he was healthy again until yesterday .I'm not really sure what happened, I have been feedin him mealworms( fed him crickets before too) .I'm really worried, I went to get him crickets again today coz i 'm afraid he might not have enough calcium or sth...but pet shop didn't have any
, He still not movin much atm .I can see he tries to jump but his legs don't follow his movement .I'm goin to try and soak him in honey water now...Hope your other frogs get better soon

Kristen, I am so sorry. Brought tears to my eyes reading this. I'm not sure how I didn't see this sooner. you're taking really great care of them. I'm not sure what could have happened. It sure is hard once they become sick though. I know first hand
.
Do you use disposable gloves when caring for them? Just to be safe. My sick babies have their own everything...gloves, paper towel roll, water jug, etc. put aside so I never have to cross over from frog to frog. They even have their own large sprayer.
It's seems when they're healthy they're great, but when they get sick they go down hill fast and it's very hard to reverse the process. I'm sure they get sick in the wild too, just as we do. Unfortunately they're like little sponges waiting to soak up anything bad. Poor babies.
My heart goes out to you! I'm glad Eddie is okay!

Hi Julee, thanks
Oh no, maybe you should take him to the vet? When I found Flower her legs were very weak too.
Mealworms aren't really a good staple food. Crickets are alot better, and mealworms can cause impaction to your frogs which can lead to death.
Good idea, and thanks.
Hope you little guy is okay!
Thank you so much Heather
Yep
Though there is a spray bottle per tank for me.
Yeah they just went so quickly, I thought Aspen was improving and the next day or so he passed away. Yeah it's just alot harder when they're your pets and you're responsible for them. I felt the worst cause I think Aspen was suffering. I shouldn't have let him go through that.
Thank you Heather, and me too!![]()
Yw, I understand and feel that way too.
