I have 3 in a ten gallon. At times they seem to get antsy and a little territorial but for the most part they are very happy. I wouldnt get any more than 3 for that size tank. I can tell mine would be very cramped if I had even one more in there.

I would say two, three might be pushing it a little. But if you can manage it, it should be okay.
