Talking American Toad I found outside earlier 6/20/2012

Found this male outside my doorstep earlier tonight so I brought him in for a quick shoot.

Looks like a female full of eggs. I'ld put her back outside.

Looks like a plump male to me, it had a smallish head and overall body just looks like a male. But who knows I could be wrong since I haven't kept these guys in a few years. And yes I did let it back outside, that's why I said "brought it in for a quick shoot".

The light cream colored throat says female. Hopefully you'll have tads in a few weeks if there is a good water souce to breed in.

Just thought it still young to show the dark throat. We did have a small pond for our ornamental fishes last year but has since filled it with dirt.

Glad to have it on our side. Too many bugs outside this time of the year.

Yeah I've gotta say female to, screams female. Does it chirp when you hold it by the back legs? How large is it exactly? The full with eggs thing might also be true.
