I took some new pics of my little feeder disposal recently and I wanted to make sure I had some size reference in one so I can look back one day when it's a big chunker. The second one is about 2 weeks old now (I'm slow getting them uploaded) and I'm pretty sure the frog is considerably bigger than when that pic was taken already.

"He" seems to be calling now, generally a few times a day. I wouldn't have expected that at such a small size-do males mature at relatively early ages (while smaller than a baseball)?
Males can start calling at 5.5 months, although they don't reach full maturity until 8-12 months. It's always awesome to hear them call, especially for the first time! You have a very nice male! :-)
5.5 months from when?? I have three males that were quarter sized when I got them on June 25th. Now they are nearing three inches long and ahve been calling for weeks. The Fantasy Frog which is probably a week or so younger started calling first!
Age is counted from the time they emerge from the water. And it's an average. Horned frogs can mature at very different rates.
Mines about the same size as picturedA little albino, I'll try to get a pic uploaded today
