Hello everyone!
Im going to try the buttermilk and moss blending technique to grow moss.
Don't worry, im not going to grow it while the frogs are in, im going to grow it separately and then put it in.
The moss that i would like to blend is the moss that you find in the garden on pavers. Im just wondering, is that safe.
I may also try pillow moss if i can find some at the store.
Thanks!
I think that, generally, it's best to use what you know. Although in this instance, I believe that Sphagnum moss is considered to be a better moss substrate to use amongst frog enthusiasts, or so it would seem here.
I'm not sure myself, so I unfortunately can't help you there, but you should check to see if your frog(s) have an intolerance to the moss's bio-chemistry, i.e- does it emit toxins? or does it/could it irritate the frogs skin?
It depends on your frog species really, and what they can or cannot tolerate/ feel more comfortable with. Hopefully someone with more experience and/or knowledge will come along.
Thanks Yusil!
Im probably going to try pillow moss or frog moss.
