I breed crested geckos as a hobby along with the care of different animals, and cresties are known for "firing up" so to say, where their colors get more intense for different reasons. Do pacman frogs do this as well? If so, why? What can you tell from a pacman's coloring?
I wouldn't say Pacmans "fire up" like Crested Geckos do. However, Pacmans do tend to change color due to their environment, stress, etc. - so, in a way it is sort of like Cresties, but they don't "fire up" if you were to get them out like a Crestie.
I wouldn't say they "Fire Up"........They tend to dull out when kept on coco fiber, but it is the best substrate for them. They will return to their "True" colors if kept on damp paper towels for about a week and will dull down again when placed back on the fiber. They can also wash out if ill or stressed.
We have kept Cresties & Gargs for a while, so I know exactly what you mean. Hope this helped.
