Unhappy R.I.P. Sticky 11/22/09 (Washington, DC)

My favorite WTF died. I'm scared to get another because I'd be devastated if I lost another one.

My condolences to you. How long did you have him?

    Thank you so much.
He was a (perfect)gift from my husband. I had him for about 3 months. A few days before he passed I noticed he looked lethargic(resting on the ground & not eating). I put him in quarantine & kept watch. A day later he looked worse than before(yawning & trying but failing to get his bearings) I cried the whole time, it was sooo sad to see him suffering.
I cleaned my terrarium, disinfected all the wood & rocks and changed the the live moss. I have no idea why it happened but I'd be hurt beyond measure if my other birdie frogs died, I don't think I could handle that.
I took him back to Petsmart. The local store has an excellent staff even if they can't contol the product that's sent to the store. The manager of the store(who happens to be a HUGE herp-lover) has every herp that dies sent to a vet for testing. He offered me another frog when they came in even though I didn't have a receipt or the other paperwork, but I don't want the heartache.

I'm going to upgrade my remaining frogs(3 WTF and 3 North American TF)into a 40gallon hexagon tank. Perhaps that will help me get over the loss and inspire me to purchase new ones. How many could I safely house in a 40 gallon hexagon?

You should separate the whites from the others...I'm not sure what North American tree frogs are... American green tree frogs? Regardless, they shouldn't be mixed. Sorry about your loss.

you can fit th 3 whites in a 40 gallon but I wouldn't put any more in there.

Sorry to hear about your frog. It is always sad when a pet dies. =(
