Well he passed a whole load of worms Sat night and since then he really has perked up. He now is climbing and hopping to get away which is a good sign.
We got him from Strictly Exotics in Perth, Scotland. We called them up just to ask for some advice, they said we could bring him in and worm him which was helpful since we couldn't find a vet.
We took him there but they weren't able to open his mouth and put the medicine in so we put it in his water and just hope some soaks into him. We were told that some have been wild caught and some captive bred and they worm all/ some/ none of them (told 3 separate things so not sure what's true) so it's possible he could have had worms and just hadn't shown yet. We were offered another one as a swap but just couldn't do that to poor Socrates!
Been told it's 50/50 if he pulls through but odds seems to be looking good since he finally ate 1 waxworm! It's the first thing he's eaten since we got him - it's not enough to survive but the fact he wanted it means he must be feeling a bit better.
Since then he seems to have perked up a bit..just need him to eat a bit more.
Still thinking of taking him to a vet just to double check if the worming solution in water helped at all but they would really need a poo sample to test which means trying to get him to eat a bit more so he 'goes'
If he does pull though and when all is well I think we would like to get a mate for him (just guessing it's a him but we haven't heard a call yet)
