We bought a square-marked toad around 2 weeks ago. We have several other frogs/toads so we are used to looking after frogs and toads.

His name is Socrates (anyone know knows about Greek philosophy knows Socrates was an ugly bugger!) and when we got him he was active (in the car on the way home at least...!) However, since we put him in an exo-terra tank with heatpads etc, he just buries in his substrate.

He hasn't eaten in 2 weeks, we reckon - and we have tried all the usual things to get him to eat. He is now getting thin, and this morning is lethargic, not really standing up, and breathing quicker. It seems like he is dying. That said, we have quarantined him now and he has stood up. But we still can't get him to eat.

No other symptoms. His tank is warm and humid enough...

Called the shop we got him from and the rest of theirs are fine. He seemed fine when we brought him home. Could be an unfortunate coincidence he has started to fail once we got him home, but are we doing anything wrong?

Any suggestions anyone? We are worried we might lose this little guy. Maybe Socrates just needs a Plato?
