Well, The move to a new apartment is over and slowly we are settling in. I put the frog rack together and still have some changes and additions to make but figured it is time to get some pics up and provide some updates.
The rack came from a place I worked and was a clothing display rack. The supports are wood 4x4 and the shelving is all metal with wood accents. The shelving can be placed on both sides of the rack and each shelf will allow for 5 vertical 12 inch wide tanks.
Lighting is T5 on the bottom three left tanks which house dart frogs and tree frogs. The other lighting is to updated with T5 at a later date.
Misting is provided by a Mist King Ultimate system which supplied the top 20 gallon tank and three lower left vertical tanks. The bottom right tank houses a Crested Gecko with fake plants so that is hand misted twice daily while the top right tank houses only plants and is rarely misted.
Here is a photo of the rack and tanks
The Three Vertical Tanks
Individual Photos of the Three Vertical Tanks
This one houses two Red Eyed Leaf Frogs
This one houses a pair of Dendrobatestinctorius-bakhuis mountain
This one houses a pair of Dendrobate truncatus - yellow stripe
Here is the original 20 long I built and house a pair of Dendrobates leucomelas
Here is a photo of the Mist King misting system that was installed
The Mist King system can supply way more tanks than this rack can hold as long as each tank is to be misted at the same intervals. I presently use one nozzle on two of the vertical tanks and two nozzles on the 20 long and two nozzles on one of the dart frog vertical tanks.
The frog rack is in my bedroom and the Mist King pump and water supply are only a few feet from the head of my bed. It is so quiet that only the sound of the spraying water is heard.
Next are some random photos from June 13th, 2012
And to round out some of the updates, I have provided below some photos of the tadpoles and eggs from the dart frogs. Photos were also taken June 13th, 2012. Hope you enjoyed the photos.
This is the eggs that provided the tadpoles in the following photos

"The best there is" great slogan
Love the pictures, will help me a lot when building mine.
Thats great Don. Now I'm jealous. I'm going to have to do a trim and clean some glass so I can post some pictures too. What's breeding for you right now? Lets see some babies. I just found another baby Azureus hoping around. He looks to be fresh out of the water ...maybe a week old or something.
Thanks Cheri and DC101,
Nothing out of the water yet but the leucs are laying eggs again.
Tads are getting bigger but I am guessing two plus months to go before I see and with legs.
oh, and at least i know I have male/female pairs on all three species of darts I have. :-)

Funny thing is I'm afraid to clean my tanks because messy, overgrown and slimy seems to be working for them. I 've gotten more production out of all my frogs since I got sick and stopped futzing with them. I use to clean the glass everyday and trimmed the plants to always keep it pretty. Now they look like something out of a swamp thing movie and the frogs love it. I think they like the privacy.
I definitely agree. The 20 long Leuc tank is so overgrown, I have constant calling every morning and you have to search for frogs nevermind dig out eggs through the plants.
This tank also has a front glass now covered in moisture all day so viewing is a challange but if the frogs are happy then I'm all set on letting it be.
As for the logo on the tank, the racks were bought on cruiser bucks which are bennies when purchasing large amounts of products from the manufacturer. Over time you collect up enough to buy the store a display rack, signs, or even product for the employees. I think this rack as close to 1500 when new. It was from a firearms manufacturer and we had several matching pieces. There are huge wheels for the rack but on the carpeting its easier to not use them.
I can't wait to build a few more verticals to have 5 on the bottom. If the bedroom was larger i would have loved to do tanks on both sides but alas, it will have to be up against a wall with one side frogs and the hidden back side used to hang stored winter coats and clothing :-)
