Is it possible that my green tree frog just doesn't like crickets? All I have is crickets and I haven't seen him eat in a week. I just had him in a bowl with a cricket and he actually backed away from it and when I dangled it in front of him he actually curled his head down so it wasn't by his mouth. Then I move the cricket away from him he opens his mouth like he wants to eat.
we talking about a "White's tree frog" or a "American Green Tree Frog"? it could be the size of the crix, or it could be attributed to stress a lot of herps wont eat when stressed out what is his tank set up, temps and what not i dont feed crix's personally but some of your herps can be very picky about what food and you just gotta break the habbit
He's a WTF. Tank temp is between 75/80 degrees and humidity is usually between 60-80%. I currently use eco-earth but after seeing how they get covered in it I am thinking of replacing it. They have plenty of places to hide there are two hanging vines, a standing plant a water bowl and some stones. He likes to sleep on the standing plant. His sister (I am guessing they are male and female) absolutely LOVES crickets. What do you feed your frogs?
I feed Dubia roaches and they love them lol just put them in a small glass dish and they love them (way healthier) lol but i also breed them
Yeah, I don't know if I could do roaches yet, they really creep me out! I guess it's comes from bad memories of my friends house that was infested with them. I know they are different kinds of roaches but they are still creepy to me!
When he settles in he will start to eat. Give him time. Put the crickets in a small glass bowl right before the lights go out. I put my bowl right next to the water bowl so he is sure to see it.
I agree it's probably just stress
