I hear that this fungus is wiping out 1/3 of all frogs & toads worldwide. Is this accurate or is it a smaller number? I am saddened by this, but am not sure if its true and just exaggerated as different websites seem to report different information. What can be done and what is being done to stop it?
You're talking about the Chytrid fungus and yes it is devastating. PBS did an excellent documentary called "The thin green line". You can go to shopPBS.org - Where every purchase supports public broadcasting. to find it. It talks all about Chytrid and what they're doing about it. Check it out.
Since you saw the video can you tell me how bad the situation is? Some say its just 1/3 or 40% of species. This means there are many species that are not affected by this fungus.
