I recently acquired 3 FBTs an 2 Fire Belly newts housed in a 10 gallon tank. The tank wasn't anything but filters and rocks - no plants. They have been together for a few years without any aggression issues
I had a betta living in a 30 gallon, so I moved him to an empty 10 gallon and put the toads and anoles in the 30 gallon tank and planted it and fix it for them.
I only just now found out that they shouldnt be together, but since they've been tank mates so long, I am leaving them as is for now since I don't have a spare tank.
My issue is what should I do to make the tank more fit for the newts? The frogs greatly prefer the moss covered rocks to the water, anyway. They are rarely in the water so I'm thinking I could get away with 50% land and 50% water.
Also, obviously the newts have survived this long in **** care, but should I dosomething else to ensure their happiness?
They all seem plenty happy enough.
A few more questions:
I keep a worm compost in the garage so that is going to be their primary diet. So I need to rinse the worms off before I feed them? Or so I just stick a few in a shallow bowl and let them have at it? They are red worms so I was figuring a worm per frog/newt and sprinkle them with calcium and then do crickets every couple of weeks - is that varied enough?
Thanks!

I edited my post. The neighbor told me they were anoles, but a little research shows they are actually Fire Belly Newts.
I also wanted to add a few questions
