Ive had my Whites Tree Frog for about two months. I did a big nono and bought him from Petco. he is about an inch and a half long. The next day I went back and got his tankmate. a bit smaller but within a safe range. I put both well fed crickets and mealworms in the tank, they have two trees/vines and a water dish.
The temp ranges from mid sixties up to the high nineties some afternoons, the humidity of the tank is between sixty-five and eighty.
I tried to hadle them about once a day to get used to humans.
Now here are the problems that I have noticed
-both have had mouth secretions that leaked all the way under their "arms" to their stomachs. It mixed with the coconut bedding causing it to turn a nasty brown streak that I could just pull off. I read just now that it may have just been them eating their own shedding skin. any ideas?
-I have only seen one eat and once at that when I thong fed the bigger one. The crickets vary from extremely small to freakishly large. Both of them were extremely skinny and boney, the tank always has food in it and smaller one of the frogs has died from what I think it starvation even with the large amounts of food. I also am pretty sure that they dont eat because of the amount of dead bugs i have pulled out of the tank
-I have not found any poo The day the smaller one died, the larger one had a light brown liquid dripping off of his rear end but I have no idea what that was.
I just really need some advice, will my still living frog be lonely? is it normal for them to not eat for long spans at a time?
I know that I must seem really stupid to people who have owned frogs for a long time but this is my first time, i have no idea what to do and really really need some help
