Default How to tell sex of Red Eye Tree frog. I just have one

I only have one Red-Eyed Leaf Frog at the moment. I want to get at least one more of the opposite sex. I am not sure what sex my current one is. he/she is about 10-11 months old. he/she has never made a noise that I have heard. it seams smaller than other females that I have seen. so I am totally confused. are there other indicators of sex that I can go by? I have hear that you can tell by the nose angle. is this true?

I took a few pictures for reference.

    Thanks for the help

Size is quite accurate if you know it's an adult frog, since males are much smaller and less... thick, in lack of a better word. But then again, it's hard when you only have one frog and can't compare. Call is obviously a dead give-away if you actually hear him call. Perhaps he should have called by now, but you don't know for sure. They tend do to a lot less calling when housed alone, especially without males to compete against.
I've never heard anything about nose angle, and I would not use it at all, unless someone can provide solid proof.

Its hard to tell when they are not full grown and you dont have others to compare sizes to. Some males are more vocal than others . Try misting heavily at night and play some Red Eye calls to see if you can get him to chirp. If not you probably have a girl. Or just wait another few months.

I have him/her in a vivarium with about 5 gallons of running water. should I install a rain system? What age is full grown? I also have a part 2 to this guy...I am going to buy 10 RETF tadpoles today from a local private breeder. can I put the tadpoles in the water in hi/her vivarium? will he eat the tadpoles? the water is very clean and has some algae on the rocks on the bottom....perfect for tads.

    Thanks

    Tom

If you could post a good photo of the inside of the thumbs on the front feet it could help in determining sex.

    A. Callidryas only develope nuptial pads during breeding season, so that will not be enough to sex it unfortunately (unless he is simulating that with a single male)

I'm well aware of that, but there is another way I know that has been pretty reliable for me to sex when not in condition. Every female I have seen (and it is a lot) has the white extend right down onto the thumb, in males it doesn't it just barely goes onto thumb only as far as where nuptial pad starts. Have a look at your and see if you can see it.

Here are some pics of the feet from this morning. The more I look at him, he is looking more like a male. He has been eating a lot of crickets and has a full belly right now. But he is still has a pretty small waist. let me know what you think

    Thanks again

Sorry my bad, I didn't specify. It has to be the top of the feet/thumb, a little tricker to photograph!

If it's fully grown and 2 inches, i would say you got yourself a male.
Calling is done by both, male and female, but the male has 2 distinct calls, the females just one.

I thought only the males called too. I have recently purchased two more RETF's one is an Albino. The owner said these two have never made a sound. I got them in the vivarium with my retf and now the two that I bought are calling. what does that mean and what do the male calls sound like compared to the females. Mine still has not made a peep.
