Question Do bumblebee walking toads need lighting/heating??

I've talked to some people at my local reptile store about bumblebee toads. They said this species do not like heating or lighting at all, they recommended me to keep them on small plastic tubs without any light and heat just room temperature.

Do you guys think that would be fine?

if you are going to have to have live plants you have to have a source of light to regulate night and day cycles, im not familiar enough with this species to be sure i would think you'd want to keep a temp at around 80f i dont really use bulbs for my amphibians they dry out to much id go with a weaker heating pad hopefully some one more experienced with he breed with chime in

I currently own 5 of these lovely little amphibians, I keep them in a terrarium that maintains about 75-80 deg. with about 75% humidity. I do use a light (for the plants) its a helos florescent, I have found that there pink plant one does the best. In fact that tank has the best growth out of all my tanks. From my observations the don't seem to mind the light at all, they are all very active all day. I hope this helps
P.S. these guys are some of my favorite to watchName: frog4.jpg

I have 6 of these little guys, have a normal flourescent light on top, screen top, with a mister going off about every 3 hours, averaging around 70% humidity where they are. They do not mind the light, although it seemed when I didn't have the mister going they were more active. They still are out and about frequently during the day and evening and LOVE feeding time (fruit flies). I have some ferns growing in there which have grown better once I added the mister. I have them at room temperature (low to mid 70's) and they are fine.

Here's my setup (TetraFauna brand terrarium, size of a 20 long but a bit higher. Vivarium setup with layered hydroballs, spagnum moss, coco fiber, some torn up leaf litter and coco husk as the top layer, plus a couple of cork hides, a waterfall area, and some small ferns. I will be adding Pothos plants soon.

Bumble bee toads are very easy to keep. I've found that they do very well between 70-80F. Check out our care sheet on keeping and breeding bumble bee toads here:
