So on July 31st I got my little buddy Miles, who was about 10 grams and the size of a quarter. After much trial and error and with the help of you all, Miles has been growing like a weed. Actually, so fast that I think he's a girl :P He has no signs of nuptial pads and hasn't croaked yet. But anyways, I cleaned his tank today and thought I'd get a weight and some pictures of him. Well turns out, Miles hit 100 grams today. That's 10x's bigger than when I first got him
I just wanna thank you all for the help! Now without further ado, here he is!
When I first got him!
And Now:
What SVL (snout to vent length) is Miles now? Most of us don't weigh our frogs, since frogs tend to retain alot of water and can fool your scale quite a bit. Miles does look like a she to me, especially looking at the size and no visible nuptual pads as you stated. It's great to see she's doing great! Might have to rename Miles now.
Most males will start croaking around 2.5' to 3' in length, so if Miles is beyond that and still not calling, I think it's safe to assume he is a she.
Looks a girl to me too so pretty!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Beautiful frog. What are you feeding him?
Very nice colors ! Would be careful placing a frog on floor that might have cleaner residues.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Miles is indeed female.
How often have you been providing Calcium+D3? Looks like a small sign of MBD on the left side at the hinge of the jaw, but very minor so no worries.
