Hello there! My fiancé and I are wanting to do an awesome vivarium hopefully in a 72 or higher gallon tank. We want to do a waterfall going into a small pond-like thing with a small stream coming from it along the front of the tank all the way across into another small pond that gets pumped back around to the waterfall, and we want to make an awesome styrofoam background with ledges and stuff built in.
Well, we've never really done a build before, so I was wondering what are the basic essentials for the build, and any tips or hints to make it easy and just that much more awesome.
We want to put 5 or 6 Red Eyed Tree Frogs in there, along with live plants and such.
So what are some good live plants for vivs, like good leafy ones and pretty flowers and such.
I suppose I'm mostly looking for anything that might help us in general xD
Sorry if this is a little long and kind of vague. We're just getting an idea of stuff for now lol.
first of all for 6 RETFS get something bigger than 60 gallons for sure. 2ndly make sure you're enclosure is vertical.
pothos is a good plant for RETFs. go on youtube and search red eye tree frog and you'll find alot of vids on peoples enclosures for ideas and also look around on here. Lynn and Martin are big RETF keepers so check them out
My aunt and myself are currently building a viv. I have taken pics of all stages so far. Do you plan on creating a false bottom? Feel free to msg me and I can list supplies we have gotten. We also are including a pond and water with a creek like you mentioned. =)
Oh, I just realized this thread is kinda old.
