Hello all!
Im going to buy some red eyes and i want to get everything right.
This question has been bothering me. So, do i have to use spring water
or if i can use tap water when misting my vivarium.
Thanks Guys, help i greatly appreciated!
Hello
Well, if you use Tap water, it's generally a good idea to leave it out, like in a bucket or in the spray bottle for probably a day or two, just to make sure there's no harmful chemicals in the water, even if you're a 100% sure it's sqeaky clean. Frogs are sensitive and breathe through their skin, so water with chemicals would probably be like being sprayed in the face with perfume.
Just think, in their native environment rain is untreated, so the water you mist them with should also be untreated.
Good luck

ALWAYS de-chlorinate any tap water you are using. De-chlorinator is inexspensive and it doesn't take much to treat the water.
I agree . I either put tap water in a bucket and leave it for a day and come back, put it in my little spray bottle or wait for it to rain and leave my bucket outside to catch the rain and use that [though I have to check for mosquito eggs].
Here, our tanks run mostly on rain water, so we drink exactly what's given to us[though we have alternative water distributions- i.e water trucks/municipalities], with only some chemicals to kill any bad things that may find their way into our tanks.
So it's probably different for us, because we're not as reliant upon industrial water, but I agree that De-chlorinating is important. But I've been doing this for awhile, and so far, nothing bad has happened [ then again, our species are different and we're in different parts of the world].
