what was in the rain chamber?.... male/s colors and female/s colors?
male albino x female normal het albino = all eggs look normal.. all tads start out looking normal and albinos start showing a few day in...
albino x albino all eggs are albino and tads stay looking albino
so i think (havent paired this yet but all eggs will look albino and they cant all be albino)
male normal het albino x albino female = all eggs look albino tads start out looking albino but only for a few days then the normals start to color up...
I should be able to say for sure by the end of the week... next pairing will be Green male het albino to Albino female....
Most of them hatched last night. I will check today. I had almost every color in the rain chamber. But there was no albino males hooked up with albino females.
The normal albinos with the greens(Samurais) Produce various qualities of lime green. Some are really nice patternless ones and the others just have deep green. I like that breeding more than a lime x lime.
thats why i breed in pairs .... I want x to spawn with x... not y... so i keep y out of the mix. saves me from having to guess on things, and gives me a 100% sure who the father and mother are. also I can count on colors that I want to get out off the spawning, and see if things breed true or not... you cant do that 100 % in a group spawning... most Ill do is add one extra male to get the calling going heavy then pull him... if it was a slow pair.
I am going to divide up the rainchamber next time i breed them. There are a few hundred tadpoles that hatched out. The blue line ornate female looks ready and should breed with my dark ornate male.
Only one problem with dividing a rain chamber........still can't guarantee the eggs will be fertilized by a specific male & not the one in the next chamber......sperm is released & will fight to invade any egg it comes to first. It would be odd, but completely possible to get a mixed breeding that way if the water is allowed to circulate throughout the entire chamber.
I have a glass company here that builds my tanks. I am going to have a rain chamber built to divide pairs. I noticed that in big rain chambers the amount of fertilized eggs are less than in a small rain chamber.
Solid glass dividers with a drain out the back.
