Question How can I plant plants in the Background of my vivarium?

Hello everyone! Im new to this forum and im still getting used it.

Im going to get some red eyes and i want to get everything perfect for them.

Ive bought an exo terra foam background and im thinking of cutting some holes in it and putting in a pot plant.

But, the only concern i have is, will the plants get root bound and die because they don't have much room in the pot?

Thank you everyone, your help is greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to Frog Forum!
I have had plants growing in 4" pots with tropical soil) for more almost about 1 and 1/2 years.
However, they are suspended on the glass * side and back) not the background.
They are doing very well w/ plant lighting.

the size of the pot will slow the plant down in growth. I have plants in 2" pots and they do fine. If you are doing like broms on the background you can attach them with a staple to the background so you don't need to install pots. if doing other plants that need soil use a drill to drill out the hole for the pot to fit in

If you drill holes into the foam to add pots, make sure you drill some smaller holes to the bottom of the pot to allow for drainage, otherwise water will pool and rot your roots. This tank has 3 net pots in the background, each surrounded by foam, with 3 large drainage holes each drilled through the foam into the bottom of the pots.
