Totally cool. I rarely see pacman frogs in the Petsmart stores her in Phoenix. Even reptile specialty stores rarely carry them.
I work at Petsmart our pacmans come from a supplier in Florida the same that supply our Betas as far as I know they are not hybrids but I'm new to frogs I work Monday and can get the name of the supplier then he's beautiful way different than most the pacs we get in at pmart

Looks close to these right grif? These are the Hybrids. Green Apples
That's an awesome looking little pac!
Love the pattern and intensity of color..
lucky! that is a great find! mine is currently eating two med. crickets a day and very active. i will keep everyone posted on my progress and if you have one, you'll get what we mean!
Actually this did not have a happy ending. Green Apples are unstable hybrids. There is nothing good about the paring. Sadly Malachite here didn't live past 4 months. He died of Liver Cancer. This is just one of many horror stories of a Green Apple Pacman that has died way before reaching adulthood. They just do not thrive and to think they are great even after hearing all the bad things kind of makes me believe you are ignoring the fact that they are basically running out of time the moment they leave the water.
Its very sad.
Well grif. to be honest i am not ignoring the facts, just trying to be positive! Since i already own one, why not try my best to find as much information as possible? i don't think i am wrong for being excited, and yes i am aware of the problems but should i just give up? i understand your point, but i already bought mine before i joined the forum and was informed of the defects. i am not here to stir up trouble, i am just here to share my hobby/interest with like-minded individuals. i hope this clears up my intentions.
Alright then. Now that you know what you are in for just do what you can. Provide as much of a varied diet as possible. Multivitamin powder once per week and a calcium D3 powder every other day, but not on the same day as the multivitamin.
Get your hands on some Samurai Pacman Food and use it as a treat if you haven't got it already. Earthworms are the best food for them to eat and the Apple will begin to grow quickly on them.
Hopefully yours will be one of the survivers. It seems that the brown morph of the Apples fair better genetically, but are not entirely without issues. Hope your Green Apple Morph becomes one of the few.
thank you very much for the advice Grif. i will try my best to provide a spectrum of food. i really do hope that my frog pulls through. i really do appreciate the information that you and other members have provided me! thanks!
I can't blame you.
I got mine form petsmart also.
They might be form the same breeder.
I just can't wait to find out if it is male or female.
It can just cover a silver dollar.
Yeah Louis, your's does appear to be a normal Green cranwelli.
